Alumni Association Academic Scholarship Application Each year, the Alumni Association awards an academic scholarship in the amount of tuition for 12 credits hours to a junior or senior traditional undergraduate student in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement. Applications are reviewed by a committee comprised of members of the Alumni Association Board. The scholarship is open to any full-time traditional student attending Indiana Tech as long as they meet the following qualifications and obligations. Applicants must: Be entering their junior or senior year in the traditional college format for the year of application, and in full-time pursuit of a baccalaureate degree at the university. Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Have completed at least one full-time traditional undergraduate academic year at Indiana Tech at the time of application. Have no less than 24 credits remaining to complete their degree at the conclusion of the current school year. Be willing to disclose financial information and provide an unofficial transcript. Provide three references. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their references are aware they may be contacted by the committee. Student athletes must discus their intent to apply with their coaches and the athletic department prior to applying. Receiving this scholarship could negatively impact current athletic scholarship package. Not all scholarships are stackable. Agree to attend the Alumni Association Annual Meeting on the second Tuesday of November to publicly thank the alumni association members. Extracurricular activities such as participation in professional societies, athletics, service to the university, etc., as well as financial need, will be considered. It is strongly advised that all applicants consider how this award may impact their current financial aid prior to completing the application. The Alumni Association Academic Scholarship may be in addition to, replace, or blended with currently offered awards based on athletic eligibility and/or overall need. Not all awards are stackable, in some cases accepting this award may nullify an existing award. The Financial Services Office can review student aid package information and help determine how receiving this award may impact other awards. Applications are due each year by March 25.
